Some things God Does Not Want Us To Know

By mstrohm | March 24, 2008

Years ago when I would study a subject I would gather as many Scriptures on the subject as I could.  I would then read and re-read those Scriptures until I could see a clear pattern or a clear Biblical instruction.

Here are some Scriptures on what God does not want us (or our children) to know.

I Timothy 6:20,21Open Link in New Window “ Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith. Grace be with you.”

II Timothy 2:15, 16Open Link in New Window “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.”Romans 16:19Open Link in New Window, “Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.”

Colossians 2:8Open Link in New Window “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.”

Jeremiah 10:2Open Link in New Window “This is what the LORD says:  “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them.”

Psalm 119:113Open Link in New Window “Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God!”

May God help you and your family as you carefully and prayerfully decide what you should and should not allow to enter your home and the minds of your children.
